Giving a 5 star to the house itself, the tour guide wasn't very friendly. She definitely knew her stuff but it felt like she was a babysitter in a rush, vs someone who wanted to educate us. A member of my group (there was 5 of us), got 5 feet from the group and was told not to "wander" (she was taking a picture) and we were repeatedly reminded "not to touch", mind you, everyone is an adult. The house is AMAZING! Definitely worth taking a tour!
Nice big, historic house but only have hourly guided tours, only could see 3 rooms of the house since crunched for time without the guided tour. Wish we could have seen more of the house without the tour, but very limited on access. Apparently, on Saturdays during Chrismas time and possibly other times in the future will offer self guided tours of the whole house.
Amazing experience. Loved the staff that worked there. I had a great tour guide. Would recommend to anyone interested in learning a little something about the Hill family.
I am happy to have seen this landmark, however the family Christmas programme did not meet my expectations. I am use to other historical society places that have folks in costume and provide more of a immersive approach to history. It was nice, but thought it could have been better. A note that the staff was great, so no fault there.
Been to the Hill house a couple times. Very cool place. Neat to learn of the history. Nooks and crannies tour is neat as well.
