Would give it a -1 if I could
Very comfy. Low key. Friendly staff. Decent prices. Food was good but not super high end. A great place to have a pint, a snip and some great conversation amongst family and friends.
Had asked for soup to come right away. Soup came cold. Server said the kitchen messed up. Bread basket came with the meal ... not with the soup .... not before the meal so we all just sat . Meal finally came ... when the order was placed I asked for a steak knife as one of my guests is 91 years old and finds cutting with a bread knife difficult as she has little power in her hands. Did not happen ... Again, someone else messed up. Even after reminding the server that we needed a steak knife ... to allow an elderly person the dignity of cutting her own food ... a steak knife was not supplied.
Went to the restroom and there was a large puddle of water in the floor ... tracked down the server to report issue. Server shrugged her shoulders and said it must be related to the water that was making cold coffee.
Receipt came WITHOUT the charge card. Again had to track down the server. Her response when she finally located and returned the card was that it must have fallen out is the case.
Took 10 minutes after we were seated for beverage order ... coffee came cold. Server said the coffee maker was in not working.
I haven't had as many problems with a hotel booking ever as I have had here. The reservation we made was altered somehow, so we ended up paying more than we wanted to per night. There was construction that woke us up at 6am, and to top everything off we found actual poop smeared on our shower wall. When I told management of the issue they took photos and offered a voucher for a free stay. I decided to give them a try again as I was passing back through St. Paul on my way home and they denied the validity of my voucher that was signed by their manager not more than 5 days prior. After much deliberation I asked for a manager and they simply said no manager was available and that they were now fully booked. I will steer clear from this hotel in the future and stay somewhere that can take care of their customers.
My wife and I live a few blocks from here and have never had any issues with their service. We've been coming here off and on for 5 years. Ignore the negative reviews. The food is up to par and we feel they do the best they can.
Paid the bill
My Guest on his lunch hour had to leave better than an hour after he should have been back
Went there to try the Corks Reuben Appetizer Bites and they were out. How do you run out of something the has your restaurant's name in the name of the appetizer? Dumb. That's basically like McDonald's saying they are out of french fries. I love reubens and they really let me down.
Placed order and waited 37 minutes to come... yes I was paying attention to the time as one of my guests was on a work lunch hour. Server said they were very busy ... we did not see any one else in the restaurant. And during that time not once did the server check on us.
