I’ve been to many professional salons and this is by far the sweetest service. I love the salon set up... and from I’ve seen they do an amazing job on hair. My husband got his beard cleaned up and it looked great. They are kid friendly as well with a cozy waiting area.
I came to Moxie Salon for the first time, because I was dying my hair for the first time. Usually I try to go to less expensive salons like Cost Cutters or even hair institutes, but I wanted to make sure I was with someone who knew what they were doing since I had no idea what I was doing. I was a little nervous going into a higher end salon for the first time, but the girls at the front desk were very sweet and that calmed me down. They took my coat and offered me a beverage. They also answered all my questions about how scheduling worked for dying hair (at this time I was there only for a haircut and consultation). My stylist was Jillie. She first asked me what I was thinking for a haircut. I explained how I usually have it cut and she then made some suggestions for how to make it better. We then started the color consultation. I explained some of the colors I liked were burgundy and ash blonde. She suggested that we leave my natural hair color as the base, since it is a color allot of people want, and then go a lighter blonde on the ends by doing a balayage. I love stylists that are willing to give their honest opinion and agreed to the idea. I got the haircut and it looked great. I came in the next day to dye my hair. She answered all my questions about what she was doing and had me done in 2 hours. I love my hair and plan on coming back in the future.
I got my roots done here plus an overall toner. It was a decent experience. Took a few hours, everyone was nice enough. The main stylist had an assistant with him but he seemed a little short with him. It wasn't great vibes. I'm giving this place one star because I experienced some chemical burns on my hairline near my forehead and ears. They went away after a few days. My whole scalp felt numb for several days, and I experienced a lot of flakiness. I've never experienced chemical burns or this type of reaction to bleach or toner in the past, so I think that maybe the developer was too strong, or applied too generously. I went to a professional in order to avoid chemical burns, and instead I just paid $200 for professional chemical burns.
Loved the service I received - you can feel the passion of the hair stylists. I wanted to hide my grays but never had my hair colored before, mainly because I love my natural color. My stylist nailed my natural color 100%! WOW!
I have been to this salon twice now and Kristin has cut my hair both times. She is awesome! This place has a unique vibe and I especially appreciate the scalp massage during the hair wash. I plan to have Kristin cut my hair every time I need it in the future.
Worth the money and will be returning! Only downfall is the parking.
