I didn't give this a 5-star review for two reasons:

While I know that apartments attached to the hotel aren't exactly a part of the hotel, the passage which leads to the skyway had some lights burnt out and seemed very torn down. It was also full with the smell of weed. Walking there alone made me feel unsafe. Other than that, the experience there was alright. The food wasn't exactly great but it wasn't bad either and the rooms are very nice and clean.

I booked this hotel stay on points, and I am so glad I did. We had a corner room with an AMAZING view of the river and downtown Twin Cities. There's plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

Attended a professional event in the evening. The venue is larger than it appears on the outside. The event rooms were quite nice. Decor was tasteful and the tables and chairs were clean and not beat up. The food was pretty good although it felt like the chef might have over thought the food just a bit. While satisfying a flavorful, there were just a few too many ingredients for my taste. Overall however it was a good experience.

Do not expect to get out of the parking lot without paying a lot of money. We were given a ticket for long term parking. The cost was supposed to be covered with the hotel stay. When we checked out and tried to leave the parking lot the machine denied us exit. We buzzed the intercom and a woman told us to hit cancel and hung up on us. We hit cancel and waited for a few minutes. We not allowed exit. We buzzed the intercom again. A man answered, told us to hit cancel, and hung up on us. We buzzed again. A woman answered, did not wait for us to explain that we tried hitting cancel twice, told us to hit cancel, and hung up on us. We tried buzzing again. No one answered. We tried again. No one answered again. By now there were four cars behind us. We gave up and paid for a parking ticket. We went back to the lobby to ask for reimbursement for the $36 dollars. The woman working the desk told my husband that nothing would be charged to the card. There was no apology. Why didn't someone just stay on the intercom with us to explain this instead of hanging up? Why did they first just hang up and eventually stop answering? Why was there no apology by any of the mulitiple staff working the intercom or the woman working the front lobby? Apologies at the point of service can make all the difference. We should not have to write management or leave a review to get one. This was very poor service all around. Poor service does not make up for nice furnishings and a good location.

1) Parking in the garage is $19/day

2) The room was drafty and would get cold unless we had the curtains closed.

I stayed at the intercontinental River Front for the National Walk Summit 2017. I enjoyed the hospitality, and the wonderful staff. I think that the accessibiliy was great, but the rooms needed work. There wasn't much space to navigate a wheelchair in the room. That was my only issue. I was in a scooter for the trip, and it was hard to navigate in the rooms. The bathroom was spacious and had a walk-in shower I gave a five star for the great staff and environment. These accessibility issues can easily be fixed.
