My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. Liz is amazing! She went above and beyond for us. Check in was at the latest 6, but because of our wedding we were very late. she went out of her way to right a note and leave a key for us in a hidden spot so we could get in after the wedding. She didn't even have to do this since I gave very short notice, but she did. She is a great person all around! She gave great service, is personable, and made an amazing breakfast for us. The boat and rooms are beautiful as well! If I could give ten stars out of 5 I would. Please take time to visit this beautiful spot, you won't regret it.
If you want a quiet place to stay, in a great location, with very comfortable rooms, this is the place. A unique opportunity to stay on a tow boat, on the Mississippi River. It's not for everyone, it is a boat! The doors are narrow and some of the rooms are up a spiral staircase, which I absolutely love. Fireplaces for comfort during colder weather, which I also love. A beautiful deck to practice morning yoga. I could not ask for anything more.
Upon arrival to the inn we were warmly greeted and welcomed. The owner is warm and genuine. The decor seems carefully selected to match the Era of the boat itself. Our room is perfect with wonderful views of the river and cityscape. Fireplaces in each room create such a lovely ambience. It doesn't hurt that the breakfast phenomenal and served with great presentation. Will definitely be returning and recommending to others.

I stayed at the Covington Inn for a birthday surprise and it was one of the most special and fun evenings of my life. Liz is a gracious and generous host and every detail on the boat is thoughtful and with the guest in mind. The water and view of downtown St. Paul and the lights at night are magical. I highly recommend walking over the Wabasha bridge into downtown St. Paul for whatever you heart delights in. And thank you Liz for providing a vegan breakfast for me, and sharing your special respite on the river!
