Would have been Five Stars were it not for a couple inconveniences. 1. At Minneapolis after the checkout counter you're supposed to see a person to get your car. The Alamo person was at lunch, but an Enterprise helped me find my car. The car was nice and as advertised. 2. I had rented the car via Priceline. They estimated $337.75, but I was charged $599.78. I called Priceline and they could not get someone at the counter. I called the Alamo customer service and they gave me a credit of $269.21.
Also, was charges additional for gas.
I didn't like the fact that when I returned the vehicle the person checking it in couldn't tell me what the frequent traveler charge was.
I went through itemized charges on paid receipt and statement i was given as due. It was same charges but charges went up.
I like the fact that he took the surcharge off my bill.
Easy check-in. No full-size cars left in the row but we got a really nice, comfortable Impala with a huge trunk. Great to drive. I'm a Range Rover driver so was very pleased that the car we got was as luxurious and comfortable as it was. Wasn't expecting anything like that. Drop-off was equally as easy.
False information and additional charges.
I like the fact that when you pick up your vehicle that you can choose which specific one you get rather than being assigned a car.
What a pleasant experience. I can’t believe I’m saying that about a rental company, but they really did a great job. Check in was a breeze too.
When I was dropping off, I was asked to pay again. I informed with staff it was paid in full. Staff went on to explaining i did not pay anything and it will be charged to my Credit card.
I'm pretty sure that I will rent from Alamo again but the last time I rented from Enterprise and Budget it was a lot better experience.
I booked vehicle through American Airlines and when I got here to pickup vehicle was not available. Prepay for gas, taxes, and all charges paid,We were offered different vehicle for same charges( so said).
I didn't like the fact that after I left the facility I compared the rental agreement against my reservation and my bill was $18.00 higher due to a "frequent traveler surcharge", which they charge when you try to use an airline mileage plan, which I did not do.
I rent a lot of cars from a lot of the major companies and this is the first frequent traveler surcharge that I've run across. I know that when I get to my destination I don't want to have to go over my bill at the rental car counter, I don't want any of their insurance, I don't want any of their gadgets and I don't want to upgrade to another vehicle for just a few dollars more. I just want to get in the car and go just like everybody in line behind me.
